Georgette Benn Leake was born in San Francisco, California. She now lives in Fremont with her husband Bill.

Georgette became interested in art by observing her mother who did charcoal drawing, and painted in oil and watercolor.

Georgette found that after her three children were in high school / college she had the time to devote to her creative side. She took classes in tole painting and found it rewarding, painted on metal, wood and canvas, any surface with different textures and techniques.

Georgette felt she needed another medium to express herself and found Jans Art Studio where she was introduced to Shirley Dominiak. Shirley was enthusiastic and encouraging and gave her the opportunity to realize her potential in colored pencil.

Totem poles from Alaska, flowers from Hawaii, birds and landscapes all gave her the creativity she was looking for.

Georgette's work also includes oil and watercolor paintings. Georgette is a member of CPSA DC210 and enjoys meetings and workshops where she can learn new techniques.
